As a small online t-shirt boutique, you encourage repeat business by providing excellent customer service, a quality product, and a memorable experience. One way you can ensure the last is to find a unique way to package your goods for sale. The following are a few ideas that are sure to stand out in your customer's minds.

Consider food packaging

Who says that pizza boxes are just for pizza? Consider having small pizza-style boxes printed up with your logo on the top. You can even including the washing instructions for your wares where the reheating instructions are typically placed on a pizza box.

Another idea is to look at the recycled cardboard clamshell box, a design often reserved for high-end burger take-out joints. These boxes are the perfect size for a folded t-shirt. Simply wrap them with a label identifying your business and the real contents.

Put it in a pillow box

Pillow boxes can range in design from plain cardboard with an eco-friendly feel, to ornate designs worthy of a princess (or prince). Foil covered pillow boxes are especially deluxe, but surprisingly inexpensive when ordered in bulk. Just make sure the size of the box fits the t-shirts. If you find pillow boxes too plain, look at the fold-over styles. Instead of simply opening and closing from the ends, these open with a flap similar to an envelope. The flap is secured with a ribbon, which is an attractive option that works well for some boutique styles.

Use a window box

Show off your wares with a window box. One creative idea is to get a flat pack box in a rectangular shape. Print the design to look like a business-class letter, but put a clear window where the address would be so buyers can see your shirt.

Another window idea is to have the box cut so it resembles a scrollwork picture frame, with the clear plastic window in the center showing off the shirt.

Choose a fun shape

Not all boxes need to be square. Consider packing t-shirts into a canister style metal tin. Not only is it durable, the tin can be branded with your boutique name and double as a free gift for your customers. If you still prefer angles, look into pyramid packaging. These triangular tubes allow you to insert a rolled t-shirt, but the sharp angles are more eye-catching—and stable—than a traditional tube.
